Please read these before relying on anything on Broadband for Schools.
General information only
Everything on this site is general information about internet connectivity for schools in the UK. It is not procurement, legal or technical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from someone who knows your school, your site and your contracts. Guidance differs between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and it changes over time. Check the current Department for Education guidance (or your nation’s equivalent) and your own school, trust or local authority procurement rules before you buy.
Accuracy
We research each page from the sources listed on it and show when it was last checked, but we can’t promise that every page is complete, correct or current for your situation. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for loss arising from reliance on the site.
The estimator and checklist
The bandwidth estimator multiplies the figures you enter and compares the result with published minimums; it simplifies and can’t know how your school uses its connection. The provider checklist is a prompt, not a complete list of everything to check.
The supplier directory
Listing a company isn’t a recommendation or an endorsement, and leaving one out isn’t a criticism. Services and frameworks are shown as the company states them unless marked as checked. Company names are used only to identify them. Listings are free.
Independence
Broadband for Schools is an independent guide. We are not a broker, a reseller or a supplier, and we are not connected to the Department for Education, any local authority or any provider.
Other websites and ads
We link to other websites for convenience; we aren’t responsible for their content. Some pages carry banner ads — see our advertising disclosure.
